Welcome to the Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) Network, an undergraduate and graduate student organization at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
SAVE is currently the official student sponsor of IUPUI's annual Take Back the Night events, though changes are in the works. Take Back the Night (TBTN) is an international annual event that is hosted by various universities and community organizations around the world. Every 2 minutes, a woman, child, or man is sexually assaulted in the United States. 80-90% of all victims personally know their perpetrators, resulting in drastic underreporting of these assaults. TBTN provides a safe, empowering public environment for victims to transform into survivors through peer support and public acknowledgement of the courage it takes for people to speak out against sexual violence.
This year, SAVE will be presenting a Speak Out Against Sexual Violence on April 29th, from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Campus Center Food Court Edutainment Stage. Stop by during lunch and hear our speakers and student-read poetry.
Take Back the Night at IUPUI and Speak Out Against Sexual Violence is sponsored by IUPUI Office for Women, IUPUI Police Department, IUPUI Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), IUPUI HR Work/Life Balance, IUPUI Women's History Month, IUPUI Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE) Network, Indiana Coalition Against Sexual Assault (INCASA).
